Tayyaba Hasan

Professor of Dermatology at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and a Professor at the Health Sciences and Technology division of Harvard-MIT.

A leader in targeted photodynamic therapy (PDT) including nanotechnologies to treat and diagnose cancer and infections, with a prolific record of ~300 publications and 30+ inventions, she runs a multinational program using image-guided treatment for pancreatic and skin cancers and an international consortium developing low-cost technologies for oral cancer using image-guided PDT.

She has earned more than a dozen Lifetime Achievement Awards, from leading groups including ICPP, SAASCR, ASP, ESP, IPA and the US Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM), recognizing both her mentoring and her scientific achievements.
