The consent ethics in journalism is fundamental to preserve professional integrity and respect for Human Rights. An ethical approach is not limited to getting a “yes”, but about ensuring that the participant people fully understand the implications of what they are agreeing to and have the freedom to change their minds if they wish at any time. Therefore, this balance between the right to information and respect for the autonomy and dignity of individuals is one of the pillars of responsible and respectful journalism.
In this first week of activity in our daily online newspaper, we have been working to bring science closer to the public and we will continue to do so. Faced with the journalism of “scandal” and sensationalist news, from 27 we will continue to defend the journalistic rigor, ethics that are equal for all people and full consent during the whole process, as we understand that these are strictly necessary elements in all contexts.
