Asia has 84 new universities in the ranking compared to the previous edition, while the Americas have only 10, Europe 9, Africa 8, and Oceania 1. Almost half of the Chinese universities have risen in the rankings; the country now has the 17th and 30th best universities in the world. Singapore holds the 8th position. Still, the other universities in the top ten are from the US (4), the UK (4), and Switzerland (1). But, for how much longer?

It is impossible to properly analyze current world events, conflicts, and dialogues without understanding how some Asian countries are promoting science more efficiently than Western ones, and how they are also applying it more effectively in society. Just as one example: the concept of social impact was created within Western science and is slowly being implemented in universities, companies, and broader society. China began incorporating these criteria years later but is now applying them much more quickly and effectively than Western universities.

Today, the current dialogic society generates many messages in both traditional and social media about a rivalry or conflict between Western and Asian societies. Their focus is on military and economic resources, ignoring what is becoming increasingly relevant in both: the creation of knowledge and its implementation in society. The solution is not to invest more resources in weaponry while neglecting knowledge creation, but to recognize the importance of producing natural and social knowledge and its social impact in order to develop a better dialogic society.
